The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2007 in Kensington Gardens was designed by the world famous Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, and the distinguished Norwegian architect, Kjetil Thorsen. Eliasson became a household name in the UK with the huge success of his ‘burning sun’ - installation The Weather Project at the Tate Modern in 2003. The main gallery at the Serpentine Gallery showed new work (sculpture, film and anything in between) by American artist Matthew Barney, one of the most celebrated artists of the contemporary art world.
